Luxurious 10,000-square-foot- Presidential Cottage with private heliport, beautiful gardens and choice of VIP suites featuring fireplaces, balconies with private wooded views and luxurious baths. A little bit of staff training in basic customer service would have earned Avid 4 or 5 stars.So that personal customization can be created in advance, reservations must be made by Feb 1, 2016. It was definitely no-frills, but other than the shower that was really more of a mister we were fine with it. Not a, “you’re all set”, or “thank you” from her. We didn’t even know we were actually done checking-in until her co-worker told us. She gave us no instructions on the location of our room, elevators, parking, breakfast etc. We basically just seemed to a nuisance to her. It also led to her barely acknowledging our existence other than a few unintelligible words mumbled our way. This led to her making multiple mistakes which caused the whole process to be painfully slow. The girl who checked us in was far more interested in goofing around with her co-worker than in actually checking us in. Unfortunately, Avid failed on both counts. And after dropping a bunch of money for 10-12 hours in a room, a little friendliness from the face of the hotel is also appreciated. 
We generally check into hotels after a very long day of driving so we appreciate fast, efficient check-ins.
